Below are some links and information that may help the
process of making a record run a bit smoother. Also there is
some general information about the industry and other aspects of
making music.
I'll add to and rearrange this page as I go, and have time to
update it. Feel free to drop me a line and let me know anything
you think I should add to this page.
ISRC Codes
ISRC Codes are little bits of info
embedded into the data info on an audio CD that uniquely
identifies a music recording. They are essential in identifying
and tracking any recording available to the public. iTunes now
requires all available recordings to have an isrc code. They
also help you get royalties and such for radio play, etc.
Very simple to get. Just apply through the RIAA and they will
assign you a code that you use for all of your recordings.

For more information.
Note - They need to be added at the mastering stage when the
Final Master is burned to CD-R, and before replication.
The RIAA
The RIAA - The Recording Industry
Association of America - is a major resource for artists and
musicians with info about copyright, collecting royalties,
protecting your property and rights as an artist, isrc codes
(important), and all sorts of other information.

All sorts of important info!
Allmusic.com
All Music Guide (AMG) - also All Media
Guide - is an online database for the recording industry with
links to purchase albums, see credits, read reviews, liner
notes, artist discographies, etc. Referenced by artist name,
album, song, etc. Chok-full-of information!
All major labels, and most independent labels habitually send
releases to AMG as standard. The music industry sees the place
as the industry standard discography, credit, and information
database.
Submitting your album to AMG is relatively easy. Just send them
a copy, plus any related info such as a press release, photos,
etc.
